Quran recitation for kids
Quran is the book of ALLAH which was revealed on Prophet Muhammad SAWW. Quran is the book of guidance. Prophet Muhammad SAWW says that “The best amongst you, who learn and teaches Quran”. Learning of the Quran has many fields like to learn how to recite its words properly without making a mistake is one important and basic field. Another field is to learn the translation and exegesis of the Quran that is a specialized and detailed field.
Recitation of the Quran:
In an Islamic society, when the child started to speak fluently, parents start to worry about their children to teach them Tajweed. Tajweed is the rules of reciting the Quran. Parents give sacrifices and provide every necessity for their children. They give them healthy food, a nice home for living and contemporary education. As a Muslim, the best thing they give to their child is Islamic education. The base and fundament of Islamic education are the Quran. Every parent should focus to teach their children proper pronunciation of the Quran.
However, teaching the Quran is a difficult job for the children especially the non-Arabs. If the parents or the tutor inappropriately teach them they start losing their interest in reciting the Quran. So here are some tips that can help guide the children to learn Quran.
1. Explain the marvelous stories of the Quran:
Telling beautiful stories of the Quran creates a beautiful impact that leads to love with the Quran. ALLAH SWT says in the Quran.
“We relate unto you (Muhammad SAWW)the best stories through Our Revelations unto you.” (Surah Yousuf: 3)
Listening to the stories creates a love for the Quran in children that leads them morally and that also helps in learning recitation of the Quran.
2. Recite the Quran for the children:
Listening to the beautiful recitation of the Quran softens hearts. Parents should play recitation of the Qaris of the Quran that will motivate the children to recite like they are listening. In this way, we encourage them to learn Tajweed and Makharij (the way every letter should be pronounced).
Parents should recite the Quran in front of their children. Children follow their parents in every walk of life because parents are their whole world.
3. Purchase for them the beautiful copy of Quran:
If the copy from which the parents want their children is not attractive then the children don’t take interest in reciting it. Look wise it has to be beautiful to attract the children. The text should be clear and written in good fonts with color variety adds the beauty of the Quran that leads to more recitation of the Quran.
4. Teach the translation of the Quran:
Reading a language that you can’t understand regularly is a difficult thing. Quran is an exception to this fact because many people religiously recite Quran daily without understanding. The impact the Quran had on their reciter is amazing that it engulfs the reciter. But if we teach them the meaning of the Quran it is honey on gold. It helps in reciting for hours without feeling any fatigue. So children will recite more when he understands the Quran.
